For three days, Catalonia becomes a land of adventure. There are no marked routes, no guaranteed rest, and no room for mistakes. Just roads, mountains… and determination.
On April 24th, 25th and 26th, one of the most demanding challenges on the calendar returned: the 100 Colls. A competition that goes far beyond accumulating kilometers. Here, every rider designs their own destiny, chooses their mountain passes, and faces the unknown with a single goal: to go farther than anyone else before time runs out.
During this time, participants must create their own route, discover remote places, and manage all kinds of unexpected situations, turning the experience into a true two-wheel adventure.
And it was no different for Carles Burriel —better known as “Polvorilla”—, Puig tester and now an inseparable part of the team, who decided to take on the challenge without compromise. The start is completely open: each rider decides when and where to begin. The only requirement is to carefully plan the mountain passes to ride through, since each one awards points, and to arrive before 1:00 PM on Sunday at Món Sant Benet, the final meeting point where the ceremony takes place.
On Friday at 1:00 PM, his adventure began. First kilometers, first decisions, first sensations. By 9:00 PM he was back home. It was not a withdrawal: it was a tactical pause. Because this is not about speed, it is about endurance.
Saturday was when things became serious.
Riding his BMW R1300GS, he faced a marathon day from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM with barely any stops, aside from refueling and eating energy bars.
The route was not without unexpected situations. Among them was meeting a rider who, after crashing her Yamaha Ténéré, found herself alone in the middle of the mountains. Carles decided to accompany and help her, sharing several off-road sections together. “The magic of the 100 Colls,” as he describes it himself.
He says the challenge fascinated him: both because of the constant need for organization and the management of setbacks, such as bad weather. The weather showed no mercy either. In the French mountain passes, a storm turned the route into a real challenge. Water, wind, mud. Extreme conditions where every detail matters. The equipment made the difference: Puig deflectors cutting through the wind, the mudguard and lower protections preventing mud from taking over everything. Continuing forward was not an option… it was the only possibility.
Sunday was probably the toughest day. He left at 7:00 AM with the added pressure of the organization’s control system, which sets 1:00 PM as the deadline. With only a few hours remaining and needing more points to achieve the coveted golden 100 Colls pin, Carles decided to head towards Tarragona to complete his goal and secure a remarkable position among the top 20 riders.
Without a doubt, an extreme challenge that pushed both rider and motorcycle to the limit, confirming Carles as a great Puig tester in real-world conditions and proving that Puig products are the ideal travel companion for taking on any challenge.
