The teams sponsored by Puig fought hard and managed to come out on top in their respective categories.
Friday started off very positively in the Czech Republic for bimota by KRT, with Alex Lowes (#22) setting the third fastest overall time and Axel Bassani (#47) finishing seventh. However, a series of individual crashes led to four red flag interruptions during FP1, and the afternoon session didn’t improve due to intermittent rain that left the track damp.
Despite the conditions, and after opting to stay off track in the early minutes of FP2, both riders found improvements in the performance of their bimota KB998 Rimini machines. Alex ended the day third overall and Axel seventh, rounding off a solid day for the team.
On Saturday, Lowes delivered another strong performance, finishing fourth, marking his best individual result of the year with bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team.
Sunday was Bassani’s day, as he mounted an impressive comeback to secure sixth place in Race 2. The Italian commented:
“Finishing P6 from P13 is really good. We ended a very tough weekend in a good way. It’s important to leave with good sensations. Thanks to the team and see you in Misano.”
In WorldSSP, during Race 1 on Saturday, Lucas Mahias (#94) achieved a brilliant third-place finish, scoring the 29th podium for GMT94 and the 32nd of his career.
On Sunday in Race 2, Mahias again stood out with a solid performance, crossing the line in second place, completing an excellent weekend for rider and team.
With these results, Mahias now sits fifth in the championship standings.
After the Most round, the WorldSBK championship takes a three-week break before resuming on Italy’s Adriatic coast at the Misano World Circuit ‘Marco Simoncelli’, from 13–15 June.
