Puig has developed the new Z-Racing screen for the KTM 990 RC with a much more aggressive and sporty design than the original screen, incorporating the characteristic “Z”-shaped styling language that identifies the brand’s Racing range. Its design integrates perfectly with the motorcycle’s front end, reinforcing the radical and competitive image of the new Austrian sportbike.
The screen preserves the racing DNA of the KTM 990 RC while significantly improving aerodynamic protection thanks to its increased dimensions and height compared with the original component. The Z-shaped side channels redirect airflow towards the sides, moving it away from the rider and improving riding comfort without significantly affecting the overall aerodynamic coefficient.
In addition, its visual integration maintains the aesthetic harmony of the front end and creates a sharper, sportier and more technological appearance, further enhancing the motorcycle’s racing character. It is available in clear, light smoke, dark smoke, gloss black, matte black, orange and carbon-look finishes.
Designed and manufactured in Barcelona using the most advanced technologies in the industry and Puig’s extensive experience in developing screens for competition and high-performance sport motorcycles.
It is manufactured from 3 mm high-impact acrylic, a lightweight and resistant material that offers excellent impact protection and outstanding resistance to UV rays. Its optical quality guarantees perfect transparency and a completely clear and sharp view through the screen.
The overall dimensions of the screen are 245 mm wide, 278 mm high and 160 mm deep.
The Z-Racing screen is installed using the same mounting points as the original screen of the 2025 KTM 990 RC, allowing quick and straightforward installation without requiring any additional modifications to the motorcycle.
Its specific design ensures perfect integration with the motorcycle’s front end, maintaining the OEM fit and completely stable mounting even during sporty riding.
The Puig Z-Racing screen is 20 mm higher than the original screen, improving aerodynamic protection for the rider and reducing air pressure during high-speed riding.
The optimisation of airflow reduces fatigue during sporty rides and long journeys, providing a more comfortable, precise and safe riding experience. The Z-RACING line is based on balancing an agressive stance in accordance to your motorcycle, while keeping comfort and functionality for the rider.
The Z-Racing screens are designed to be more aerodynamically efficient than their stock ones, they are fully tested in the virtual wind tunnel to garantee improvements in the aerodinamic coeficient (Cx) and the aerodynamic protection to the rider. Thanks to its doble height, they deflect the wind that would otherwise hit the helmet and top area of the torso. In the meantime, the side channels pick up air flow and send it sideways with the objective of reducing air pressure from the rider’s shoulders.
The aerodinamic protection improvement is of 12,7% (on average with the upper body up) versus the original model and of 61% in the “racing” position.
Designed and manufactured in Barcelona, with the most advanced technologies, with high impact acrylic of 3mm. We come up with a very strong piece, light, durable and with a rounded edge of 2mm (accomplishing the safety control from the German TÜV). The artificial vision system utilized during the quality control process guarantee that the screens will get to the client in perfect shape.
