Puig Hi-Tech Parts will be technical sponsor of Team 109 Racing in the SPB
The Catalan company and the Irish team have reached a collaboration agreement for the 2026 World Sportbike Championship (WorldSPB) season, through which Puig will become the team’s technical sponsor in the windshield sector, contributing its extensive experience in this field.
Team 109 Racing heads into 2026 following a historic season in the Supersport 300 World Championship. Founded by David Hurley and Paul Tobin in 2015, the Irish squad has steadily evolved until becoming a benchmark within the championship.
In 2025, under the name Team #109 Retro Traffic Kove, the structure claimed the WorldSSP300 world title together with Spanish rider Beñat Fernández, also securing the final championship in the history of the category before its official disappearance and transformation into the current Sportbike category.
Now, the team begins a new chapter in which it will continue its official collaboration with Kove and field a rider line-up formed by reigning champion Beñat Fernández and German rider Phillip Tonn.
Paul Tobin, Team Principal & Manager of Team 109 Racing: “It’s fantastic to collaborate once again with Puig Tech Parts as Technical Partner in the new World Sportbike category. Puig is a world-leading brand in motorcycle products and much of its R&D is developed under racing conditions, achieving great success alongside numerous World Championship teams in the development of its products. Having the best Puig screens on our bikes helps our riders achieve the results we are aiming for.”
Joan Puig, Marketing Manager at Puig: “Collaborating with teams such as Team 109 Racing allows us to gain knowledge and experience directly from the high-level racing environment, transforming that learning into solutions and developments applied to our customers. The demands of the racetrack provide a unique environment to validate technology, optimize the performance of our products and accelerate innovation processes that are later transferred to the market. Working side by side with such a competitive and professional structure is also a great opportunity to continue evolving and offering increasingly advanced and reliable solutions.”
The incorporation of Puig Hi-Tech Parts as technical partner represents another major step forward for Team 109 Racing in its ambitious international project, combining the experience of a leading brand in components and aerodynamics with a team arriving in WorldSPB as reigning world champion.
